The Old School House is a Victorian School building converted into flats around 15 years ago. The flats to the first floor are a wonderful combination of double height spaces with huge sliding sash windows, and much more intimate spaces with lower ceiling heights.

We were asked by the owners of one of the flats to completely strip out the existing fixtures and organise the space with a larger livings space, and two small bedrooms.

Original features were retained where possible, such as the solid block parquet flooring and the exposed brickwork. 'Crittal'-style metal framed windows were used internally to divide up the spaces and maintain as much light within the bedrooms and living areas as possible. Traditional cast iron radiators and individual light fittings, along with the Clients extensive art collection, help to give the space a unique character.
